I have been a very busy dad and fishermen, Softball , guiding and prefishing for a club tournament has really kept me so busy I have not had time to get a report done until today. Now I understand why people say there are not enough hours in a day
Most of my trips of late have been succeful on get a few Walleye's and saugers into the boat Not always a fast bite but at times we scratched out some for the frying pan The water levels are really dropping now so a fishermen can start fishing late summer spots and techniques.
One of my favorites is dragging light jigs with a crawler or a leech on it You would be surprised at how many fish will bite while fishing this technique on the river in shallow water areas. Another technique is trolling cranks this will work as long as the clarity stays good on the river and lake pepin. Finding the right color combination is key when using cranks so don't be afraid to explore each time you go out.
Below are some pictures of the Walleye's we have gotten over the past few times out on the mighty Mississippi River.
Good luck out there guys and gals !!!!!
