Fishing this week out of Everts Resort has been a very good bite on the mighty Mississippi River. Over the week we have boated walleye and sauger that have ranged in size from 12-23 inches in length. Numbers are not a problem if you are fishing the right techniques.
With that being said keep on mind we don't keep walleye over 20 inches in length those are the throw back fish. A very nice photo moment with them and let them go to so they can spawn in the spring. There are plenty of fish in the system that I consider eaters.
Sunday I had Drew and Dillon in the boat These two gentlemen are young and willing to learn about the river for their future endvoirs The caught onto the technique pretty quickly today, which was dub rigging Drew had the biggest walleye of the day but Dillon got the biggest overall with his flathead Which this flathead was victim to a ringworm. Fun times guys see you next time out there.
Monday morning I met Bud at the resort. We started about 830 am this morning and the fish did not disappoint the two of us Bud and I boated many many walleye and saugers today We used three ways with original floaters , dub rigged and even threw a miller rig to get some walleye's . That is so fun to switch up and get fish doing everything Great time Bud and good luck deer hunting later this week.
Thursday morning Rick Enright met my at Everts Resort we went straight to dub rigging and boy Rick had the hot hand this morning to start He was putting a butt whooping on the saugers this morning and even boated some really nice walleye's What a great time with a great friend today
Friday morning John , Adam, and Nick joined me for a little rainy day on the river . Well we did not let that pesty rain stop us from putting a complete smack down on some really nice sauger and walleye today. It seems at times the fish were on a suicide bite with the guys bringing in doubles several times. An absolute great time out there with you three gentlemen today and glad you could take some fish home to feed the families. See you guys next summer for some pool 3 fishing.
The water clarity is very good right now, and the level is dropping. The flow is still pretty high so finding those key areas is a must to putting numbers in the boat .
Good luck out here guys and gals !!!!!!!
