This spring has been pretty eventful to say the least. From the start of the guiding season to now June 11 the bite has been pretty darn good for my vessel.
We have done several different techniques so far this season starting from dub rigging, miller rigging and vertical jigging early spring to now I'm starting my summer techniques. Pulling the rig, dragging jigs with bait and also bottom bouncers and Phelps floaters.
Each and everyday I have been out lately it seems the walleye and sauger one a different technique so being able to switch on a dime is a must. Reading the water is a must also, if you can figure that out you can really put some numbers in the boat. With the water lowering so quickly this has been key to figuring this out quickly. When I say this I am talking reading current seems on the river. once you have this down you will be rewarded greatly.
Our water temperature as of today on the river was 74 degrees The water level is ticking up a little at 3 ft. Up a little from 2.6 earlier this week. That's pretty close to normal stage . Seems to be pretty good flow on the river right now with the level being low. Clarity in the river is around a foot.
I would like to thank all my folks that have joined me so far this season and I look forward to our future outings. There are some dates open starting in July so feel free to contact me for dates after july 1 st.
good luck out there guys and gals !!!!
