Summer patterns heating up

Over the last week I have begun to fish some of the summer techniques and things are going as they should be for this time of the year.   The water temperature is rising which makes the walleyes and saugers go into the areas we have been fishing.

Last Saturday Morgan ,  O-Dog, and Morgan dad Tim met up with me in Hastings.  We took off at 8 am and the temps this morning were 38 degrees on take off.   These kids were not canceling because the weather.  It's a great time taking them each spring and with the walleyes and saugers cooperating it kept their minds off the cooler temperatures.

O-Dog got the first fish of the day but nothing could top Mo she had the hot hand bringing in the most in my vessel today.  She even caught a double at one point today.  Like always Tim these kids are great and I look forward to taking them out each year.  Nice to see them love fishing like I do.   Have a great summer and see you next time.

Wednesday I had a gentlemen from Arizona in the boat with me.  Larry caught several walleye and saugers today and even a "bonus" 8 lb sheepshead.   I think Larry had more enjoyment with the fight the sheepshead gave him today.  Great time today Larry and look forward to another day on the river with you.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of sharing my boat with Corrie and her fiancé Andrew.   First I like to say congrats to your daughter s team with winning the championship for her college.   Now to our Sunday afternoon of fishing we first set out dragging jigs and had a few bites but with the wind we had to switch to trolling cranks.  Great decision for Corrie she had the hot hand boating several of our keepers today and her first ever walleye.   Glad I was your guide today it makes my day seeing clients reactions to catching walleyes and saugers.  Really enjoyed the afternoon out with the two of you and I look forward to another day on the river with you.

Over the last week I have been targeting my walleyes in water depths that range from 4 to 10 feet.   The water temperature is up to 65 degrees and the clarity is pretty good for this time of year.  With the rains forecasted over the next 7 days it will make it interesting on the clarity.

Good luck out there guys and gals !!!!!
