Finally seeing the winter cold starting to dwindle down a bit and maybe signs of the fish starting their movement

First some  information every angler and boater needs to know.   Your fishing license and boat registration need to be updated.  I have seen several law enforcement out on the river lately writing citations for these easy to update violations.   Get them done folks so you can enjoy your day on the water without hassle.

Now to the fishing report.  Over the last week I have seen the river not only rise in level but the power plant is now running at full power so the water temperature has risin too.  This combination of changes should really start to kick off the return of our bite on the river system. If you are just looking for a bite there are several smaller fish in the system willing to bite right now.  The bite has been slow for some time but if you are patient things will begin to improve soon.

Today Rick joined Marty and myself for some Scouting and I would say it was well worth it for him since he caught the biggest walleye of the day measuring out at 26 1/2 inches long.  Very nice fish Rick as always it was fun having you in the boat with us.  We hosted several walleyes and saugers tiday making it the bests at to date n 2016.  Wooohoooo now things feel like the river is starting to come around a little. Pictured below are our walleyes from the day.

The water depth we fished today ranged from 12 to 19 foot.  The clarity was still about 3 feet or so and the water temperature was 35 to 36 degrees.  Best technique today was dragging ring worms.   The flow has really picked up for this time of the year.

Good luck out there guys and gals!!!!!!
