Over the past week or so the bite has really started to pick up on some days and others are a little slower but better that three weeks ago.
Monday, Wednesday and Thursday last week I took out clients from DSG of Lacrosse. Monday Ryan Denzer brought heath and Karl up to Redwing for a day of fishing. We anchored in one of the high water spots I like to fish using a three way rig over the side of the boat. It did not take long and these gentlemen were loading up the livewell. Fun day as always Ryan and it was nice to meet Karl and Heath glad they got a day off running the business and get out to enjoy a little fish catching.
Wednesday Micheal Marola brought one of his clients Jim from Winona out for a day of fishing on the river. We started our morning fishing in the rain but that did not keep the walleyes from cooperating for the three of us it was cool outside this morning to boot and we were the only boat out until 11 am. Nice to have the river to ourselves. After a full day on the river Micheal and Jim caught several walleyes and saugers today what a great time guys and I look forward to the next trip we go out.
Thursday Brian (Kevin) Eubanks brought along Dan from spring rove area and Mic (Micholas) from norther Iowa. We headed right to where I had fished the day before and it was a great choice. Dan had the hot hand today boating a number of our fish today but Mic boated the largest one today. Brian gets the mud puppy award for the boat. We also boated several different species today including crappie, northern pike, white bass, a small sturgeon, sheep head and a shad. Fun time guys and great looking bucks you gentlemen have on the wall.
Water depths I have been fishing this week have ranged from 5 to 15 feet. The water temperature is cooking slowly and I have been getting several nicer walleyes pulling cranks as of late. You can stumble upon a giant this time of year coming out of the lake.
Good luck out there guys and gals !!!!!!
